1      Linguistics is the science of studying language.

2      It includes semantics, phonetics, pragmatics, syntax, morphology etc.

3      One who studies Linguistics is called a Linguist. 

1      Phonetics is the science of studying speech sounds.

2      It focuses only on how the production, transmission and reception of sounds. (Articulatory, Acoustic & Auditory)

3      One who studies Phonetics is called a Phonetician.
